Radiation Detectors
A radiation detector is a device used to detect, track, and/or identify high-energy particles, such as produced by nuclear decay, cosmic radiation, or reactions in a particle accelerator. Radiation Detectors are designed for use by customs officers, border patrol, nuclear facilities personnel, first responders, fire departments, police officers and civil defense. The need for a hand-held radiation detector was first born from a necessity to monitor nuclear weapon stockpiles to ensure nations adhered to treaty obligations. Portable Radiation Detectors are used to assess radiation levels in zones with potentially hazardous levels of radiation.
