Electroless Nickel Plating
Electroless nickel plating is a chemical reduction process which depends upon the catalytic reduction process of nickel ions in an solution containing a chemical agent and the subsequent deposition of nickel metal on the object. Before performing electroless nickel plating, material to be plated must be cleaned by a series of cleaning chemical such as bases and acids; this process is called the pre treatment process. Electroless nickel plating is a successful application to a variety of industries on products from automotive, textile, aerospace and microelectronics. There are several large textbooks on electroless nickel plating, and major conferences dealing solely with this one subject every year. Electroless nickel plating is achieved by forming a thin layer of nickel phosphate on a solid workpiece such as metals and plastics. Compared to nickel plating, electroless nickel is more expensive, as much as 50 percent more expensive. Electroless nickel plating has several advantages versus nickel sulfamate (electrolytic) plating. Find top manufacturers and distributors of electroless nickel plating listed online.
