Abrasion Resistant Coatings

Some common needs include fingernail polishes, flooring, plastic glazing, headlamp covers and other automotive parts, transportation windows and optical lenses, where clear scratch-resistant coatings are used. AR coatings add some abrasion resistance, but, in general, because of their extreme thinness (about 250nm), they are only as abrasion resistant as the material underneath them.
