Pilates
Pilates is an exercise system designed to strengthen the body's core muscles with emphasis on reducing back pain and injury. Pilates also emphasizes proper breathing to achieve harmony of breathing and exercise. Pilates is popular among older people because it tones and strengthens the muscles without the impact on joints. Pilates improves posture and strengthens the areas that tend to weaken with age (e.g., stomach muscles, inner thighs and upper arms). Pilates is an excellent form of exercise, stretching and strength training but it tends to be more expensive than other forms of exercise so it is not for everybody.
