Male Pattern Baldness

It is reported that the present treatments for male pattern baldness are not very effective and that male pattern baldness may be caused by insulin resistance, and that a diet high in sugar and flour may cause irreversible hair loss. In the case of women, pattern baldness may start later and the effects may be less extreme due to the influence of female hormones, but the condition is nonetheless the same as that found in male pattern baldness. The most common form of baldness is a progressive hair thinning condition called androgenic alopecia or male pattern baldness that occurs in adult human males and some primate species. While many people with male pattern baldness choose to accept the condition, there are baldness treatments which can reduce or halt hair loss, and in rare cases reverse it entirely. When applied to the scalp, minoxidil can promote hair growth in men with male pattern baldness, can also help women with thin hair and frontal hair loss. Male pattern hair loss (also known as common baldness, male pattern baldness or permanent pattern baldness) is the most common one for males. Male pattern baldness does not indicate a medical disorder, but it may affect self esteem or cause anxiety.
