Leukemia
Leukemia is cancer of your body's blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and lymphatic system. Leukemia patients have bone marrow that produces a large number of abnormal white blood cells which eventually block production of normal white blood cells and impair the ability to fight off infection. Treatment for leukemia is complicated because the source of the problem cannot simply be removed. Treatment depends on many factors, including age and overall health, the type of leukemia and whether it has spread to other parts of the body. Learn more about the condition of leukemia with information on causes, symptoms, history, and treatments.
