Human Immunodeficiency Virus

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS. HIV may be passed from one person to another through sexual intercourse, blood transfer or from the pregnant mother to their child during pregnancy or delivery, as well as through breast-feeding.
