Bladder Infections
Bladder infections are a common health problem affecting millions of (mostly women) people each year. Bladder infection, which are also often called cystitis, are a a very common type of infection. Cystitis literally means an inflammation of the bladder. Bladder infections are characterized by an urgent desire to empty the bladder. Symptoms include frequent urination, burning or pain during urination (dysuria), bladder spasms and the feeling of having to urinate even though little or no urine actually comes out. In some cases, you may have cloudy, bloody or foul-smelling urine, and maybe a mild fever. Bladder infections, kidney infections, and other urinary tract infections are often treated with antibacterial drugs. The type of drug used and the duration of treatment depend on the type of bacteria. Learn more about the condition of bladder infection with information on causes, symptoms, history, and treatments.
